First 10 AKC Grand Champions in Each Breed-Receive Special Medallion

- First-Ever AKC Grand Champion "Stoli" Recognized at Oklahoma Dog Show -

In recognition of the newest American Kennel Club® Grand Champion conformation title, a special blue enamel AKC Medallion will be sent to the owners of the first 10 Grand Champion title holders in each AKC-recognized breed to mark this historic achievement.
To kick off the Grand Champion medallion program Director of AKC Event Management Michael Canalizo, joined by AKC Board Member Lee Arnold and Executive Field Representative Sue Vroom, made a special presentation to the first-ever Grand Champion, GCH Monterra’s Best Bet, MH, a 4-year-old Weimaraner affectionately known as "Stoli" bred and owned by Elizabeth Krupinski and co-owned by Timothy Bintner of Elizabeth, Colorado and handled by Tad Walden. Stoli received a special gold AKC Medallion at the Oklahoma City Kennel Club show on July 2, 2010.

Most Expensive Cat





The Californian Spangled cat is the most expensive cat in the world. In 1987, a California Spangled sold for $24,000 to an anonymous movie star. This cats for which there are fewer than 200 specimens of the breed in the world was originally bred by Paul Casey, who crossed various types to develop a new breed of domestic cat intended to resemble the spotted wildcat.

Westminster Dog Show 2011

The Westminster Dog Show is one of the premier competitions in the US. According to the official website, six breeds will be making their Westminster debuts in 2011 now that they have been recognized by the American Kennel Club and made eligible for competition in conformation shows.

Thisbe

The tragic Queen of France Marie Antoinette, who was beheaded on the Guillotine, owned a spaniel dog named Thisbe.

Bullseye - Fictional Dog from Oliver Twist

Bullseye was the famous dog belonging to the villain Bill Sykes dog in the book called Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. The dog was vicious having been badly treated by Bill Sykes but nevertheless was loyal to his owner.

Suening - The Dog King
King Eystein who ruled Norway between 1104 and 1123 decreed that, as a punishment to his people, that a dog called Suening should rule in his place. Three years passed where Suening routinely signed decrees with with paw-prints!

Cafall - Noble Dog of King Arthur

Cafall is reputed to be the dog who was owned by King Arthur of Camelot. Cafall was a mighty dog, brave, loyal and regal. The type of dog only a King such as Arthur was able to own.

Endangered animal: Iberian Lynx

Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus) is a feline mammal, native to Iberian peninsula in Southern Europe. These creatures are 85 to 110 cm long and weigh up to 28 kg. They sport a light gray coat and have spots on their body. They are the worlds most threatened species of cat. Only 400 Iberian lynx existed in the world in the year 2000 and this number has come down to less than 100 today.
